📍 Department: Football Science & Medicine

🏟️ Locations: Chadwell Heath / Little Heath / Rush Green

📄 Contract: Fixed Term – Casual

📅 Availability: Flexibility required across weekdays and weekends to accommodate Academy training schedules

Position
 

⚽ THE ROLE

 

West Ham United is seeking a passionate and driven Academy Physical Development Coach – Rehabilitation to support the delivery of an elite physical development and rehabilitation programme, with a particular focus on Return to Performance (RTP).

 

Working within the Football Science & Medicine department, you will work closely with Physical Development, Medical, Coaching and Performance Science staff to support Academy players throughout their rehabilitation and return to performance.

Requirements
 

💪 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

🏋️ Plan, deliver and review gym- and pitch-based physical development and rehabilitation programmes.

🎯 Develop individualised RTP programmes based on player needs, profiling, positional demands and development priorities.

🏃 Support player rehabilitation under the guidance of the Physical Development and Medical teams.

📊 Support rehabilitation testing, profiling and monitoring, accurately recording physical, training and performance data.

🗣️ Communicate player response, performance and training tolerance to support programme and MDT decision-making.

🤝 Work collaboratively with Physical Development, Medical, Coaching and Performance Science staff and attend relevant rehabilitation meetings.

⚙️ Deliver high-quality gym and pitch-based rehabilitation sessions and prepare appropriate equipment and environments.

📡 Collect and record GPS, testing, profiling, wellness and programme data.

📝 Maintain accurate rehabilitation records.

🚨 Escalate concerns regarding pain, symptoms, load tolerance or player wellbeing to the appropriate Medical or Physical Development lead.

🌱 Support wider Physical Development delivery where required and contribute positively to the department.

📚 Maintain high professional and coaching standards and engage in CPD and professional development.
