Title: Academy Nutritionist Work Placement

Department: Academy Sports Science and Medicine

Based at: Blackburn Rovers Academy, Brockhall Village, Old Langho, Blackburn BB6 8BA.

Reports to: Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine/Nutritionist

Placement length: 11-month work placement for the 2026/2027 football season

Placement purpose: To support the Club Nutritionist with the academy age groups

Experience and development opportunities:
• To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all stakeholders, promoting their well-being whilst maintaining professional boundaries;
• Assist in educational sessions (i.e. workshops and presentations) for academy players;
• Assist on one-to-one consultations and skinfold assessments where applicable;
• To develop relevant educative material for U9-U18 age groups;
• To work directly with injured players and assist with return-to-play nutrition strategies for an array of injury types and phases;
• Provide nutritional support at evening sessions for the foundation development phase.

Skills and knowledge required:
• IT literate including Microsoft Word and Excel;
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders;
• Ability to perform group and individual presentations.

Qualifications required:
To be working towards a nutrition related degree at MSc level.
