Description

The Role

We are looking for an Academy Full Time Model Lead and Technical Coach to enthusiastically deliver our full-time training model coaching remit, leading on an effective coaching programme for all players attending our full-time education programme.

In this exciting role, you will be delivering and developing performance pathways and plans and creating an optimum environment for players to develop and grow, with the biggest focus being on the four pillars; creating effective team players, lifelong learners and most efficient movers with a champion mentality.

Who we are

Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).

Your day-to-day

  • Lead the full-time training model - you will passionately drive our full-time training model and its players, coordinating all individual and team training sessions to cater to the needs of the players in order to maximise their potential in line with our playing style and identity

  • Act as the primary point of contact for players - you’ll be actively on-hand to support the players and coordinate the full-time programme and you’ll effectively lead a variety of sessions

  • Partner with senior colleagues - you’ll collaborate with the Head of Academy Coaching to comply with Premier League, FA and Elite Player Performance Plan rules and requirements, and ensure that the Football Intelligence Platform is kept up to date

  • Provide impactful feedback and reports - you will take pride in giving valuable constructive feedback to players at the end of each term and you’ll work closely with the relevant phase coaching team to implement it

  • Evolve our coaching programme - you’ll proactively seek out ways to improve our coaching programme and assist with the implementation and operation of these ideas, alongside the Head of Academy Coaching, the Academy Coach Developer and Lead Academy Coaches

  • Prioritise player progression - you’ll make vital contributions to player progress meetings and you’ll support our Head of Academy Coaching with the programme of Continuous Professional Development for the Academy Coaching team

  • Unite with our wider club - you will lean on the expertise across our club and form crucial relationships with colleagues across our Performance, Medical, Player Care, Education and Operations teams to coordinate the full-time training model effectively

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in academy coaching - you come with extensive experience of coaching high level players and/or talented young players and you hold a UEFA B Licence and an FA Advanced Youth Award for Coaching

  • Excellent track record of developing professional players - you've got an admirable history of coaching players at youth level who have progressed to play professional football in the Premier League or the Football League

  • Trusted, knowledgeable and credible expert - you've got clear knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan and Football Intelligence Platforms and you hold an FA Safeguarding Certificate and First Aid Certification

  • Proud ambassador for our club - you courageously act as a role model at all times, embodying our Academy's values of discipline, humility and respect as well as our wider club values

  • Effective communication skills - you take pride in building strong rapport with players and you're able to set understandable and realistic goals for them

  • Impactful team player - you possess an exceptional ability to work as part of a Coaching team and play a critical role within it

  • Best-in-class organisational skills - you handle an ever changing workload with ease and you're able to manage time and projects with maximum efficiency
