Academy Education Hybrid Tutor – GCSE Day Release Support.

Head of Academy Education.
Purpose of the Role
To support Academy players studying at GCSE level by delivering structured educational sessions that enable them to keep up with schoolwork missed due to their weekly day-release training commitments. The tutor will ensure players remain on track academically by providing guided support, clarification of key educational concepts, and assistance in completing assigned tasks.

Key Performance Indicators
• Academy players successfully complete school-set work during sessions.
• Player engagement and focus, both academically and in relation to their sporting programme.
• Maintenance of academic progress outside of traditional school/education environments.
• Positive feedback from players and education staff.
Role Specific Responsibilities
The post holder is required to focus on:
GCSE Academic Support
• Support players in completing GCSE level work set by their schools across key subjects (primarily English, Maths, and Science, where required).
• Ensure players understand and can engage with missed classroom content.
• Deliver small group or one-to-one support tailored to individual academic needs.
• Reinforce key concepts, coursework, and revision where appropriate.
Learning Delivery
• Plan and structure engaging two-hour sessions focused on productivity and academic progress.
• Adapt delivery styles to suit different learners and academic abilities.
• Encourage independent learning habits and accountability.
Progress and Communication
• Monitor players’ completion of set work during sessions.
• Provide feedback to the Head of Academy Education on players’ engagement, progress, and any concerns.
• Liaise with education staff where appropriate to ensure alignment with school expectations.
Safeguarding and Welfare
• Safeguard the welfare of all players at all times.
• Follow all Club safeguarding procedures and report any concerns using established procedures and systems.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
