Description

About The Role

Based at West Bromwich Albion F.C. Training Ground and reporting to the Director of Medical, the 1st Team Sports Scientist will be responsible for the screening, monitoring and assessment of all 1st Team players combined with an expert level of assessment, analysis, and the conditioning of all 1st Team players. To function and contribute to a world class level of Multidiscipline Team working to ensure the best level of delivery and monitoring of all 1st Team players.

Duties will also include designing, delivery, and managing the physical conditioning and injury prevention programme of all senior players.

This post will enable the Medical and Sports Science Department to deliver a high-level of service provision to ensure all WBA F.C. players receive best practice strategies for elite performance.

About The Candidate

Person Specification 

Essential Criteria 

  • BSc (Hons.) Sport and Exercise Science
  • MSc Sport and Exercise Science
  • Chartered Scientist Accredited from CASES (Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences)
  • Accredited Member of the UK Strength and Conditioning Association
  • Minimum 10-Years’ experience in professional sport
  • A successful and verifiable record in physical testing, assessment, and sports science delivery of elite athletes
  • A successful and verifiable record of enhancing the physical development of elite athletes.
  • Highly organised and methodical approach to workload
  • Confidential and diplomatic
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Full driving license
  •  Right to Work in the UK

Desirable Criteria 

  • Previous experience of working with 1st Team elite players
  •  Intimate knowledge of English Football League
