Weymouth Sign Gifford on Loan

Vanarama National League South club Weymouth has announced the loan signing for striker Dan Gifford, a SkyBet League One side Portsmouth.

The Terras will be looking to add the 18-year old, who has been a star in youth sets at Portsmouth.

Gifford was a fixture in Weymouth’s preseason fixture against Dorchester Town. He came on as a substitute and scored the goal.

Gifford was on loan to Pitching In Isthmian League Premier division side Bognor Regis Town last season, from December 2021 through January 2022. He not only played for Weymouth, but also scored for Portsmouth against National League side Barnet in the pre-season friendly.

Gifford was awarded ‘The 11’ by League Football Education, November 2021. This award is given to 33 apprentices each year and is based on their academic and football progress as well as their participation in outside initiatives.
