CONTRACT: Permanent (Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week)
Please note: This role will involve evening and weekend work and the successful candidate will be required to work all home fixtures.
The Fan Engagement Manager is a key role at Bristol City Football Club, focused on building strong connections with supporters, driving meaningful engagement, and delivering real impact across the Club. You will lead fan-focused initiatives in alignment with the Club’s Fan Engagement Plan, overarching strategy and collaborate across the group and departments to create inclusive and memorable experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the Club’s Fan Engagement Plan across Bristol City FC, ensuring all initiatives align with strategic goals.
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive matchday activities that reflect club campaigns and values.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of Match Day Fan Experience Ambassadors, providing ongoing support and feedback to ensure quality fan interactions.
- Work closely with the Club’s Media and Operations teams to ensure fan engagement initiatives are well-communicated, aligned with the club’s strategy, and comply with Health & Safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Robins Foundation to integrate community insight into fan engagement activities, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all fans across Bristol.
- Develop and lead initiatives aimed at younger fans, including the enhancement of the You Reds magazine and the organisation of Junior Members events throughout the year.
- Plan and deliver Fan Engagement and brand events in line with the Club’s wider strategy, working with internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor and evaluate fan engagement initiatives, gathering feedback and identifying and project managing areas for improvement to maintain the Club’s EFL Gold Family Excellence Score.
- Contribute creativity and innovation to all fan-focused activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, inclusive experiences across matchdays and events
- Required to work all home fixtures. Will involve evening and weekend work.
- Perform all other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Remain up to date with all club mandatory training.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of fan engagement with experience delivering impactful, supporter-focused initiatives.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver events, ideally in sport or live entertainment.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and their application to public events.
- Experience recruiting, leading, and supporting staff or volunteers.
- Skilled in working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Committed to inclusion, with experience creating accessible and community-focused activities.
- Understanding of youth engagement and experience delivering family-friendly events.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Creative and proactive, with a passion for improving fan experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident under pressure with good problem-solving ability.
- Experience gathering feedback and evaluating activities to support improvement.
