What are the Different Jobs in Football

It seems that more and more people want to work in the football industry, unfortunately, we can’t all be players or managers. This post at all the different jobs in football.

Football has never been bigger than it is now and it continues to grow. Television rights are now sold for billions of pounds and in the UK alone live games are now shown on Sky, BT, BBC and most recently Amazon Prime.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, investors and sponsors pump money into football clubs and anything associated with it.

Before the creation of the Premier League in 1992 clubs were mostly run by local people and represented their communities but over the years they have developed into businesses with multi-million pound turnovers with clubs like Manchester United now owned and run by businessmen.

This has created a range of employment opportunities in clubs up and down the country as they look to develop players and grow as clubs. There have also been huge steps forward in areas such as nutrition and sports science which now play big parts in clubs at both academy and first-team level.

How to Use this Information

Over the coming weeks, we will look at each role in more detail to help you make an informed decision about your next steps and what path you might want to take in your career.

Be realistic about what you can and can’t do, there is very little chance you will be a coach at a top club if you have a Level 2 coaching qualification and experience coaching at your local kid’s team.

That could be your end goal and its definitely possible if you take the needed steps to get the qualifications and experience needed so think about the qualifications you need to do so you can reach that role and what country you might want to work in.
