My name is Shane Hurley. I am a UEFA B licence coach, and currently finalising my UEFA A Licence.  

My most recent coaching role was to manage and coach the West Cork Schoolboys League Emerging Talent U14 side.this was a four year project, taking the boys from U11 to U14. Introducing extra sessions, home fitness programs and participation in more Tournaments than any West Cork side has done before. This resulted in the most successful side the league has had to date. Winning two trophies, plus another final and two semi final appearances. Additionally we had 6 players move on to league of Ireland academies with Cork City and Cobh Ramblers respectively. 

Previously I have held the position of Cork City FC U17 Women’s manager in the U17 women's National League. This was the inaugural season of the league and we finished third in the Southern Division. Completing the season with an unbeaten home record and 3 players called up for Ireland at U17 and senior level. 

I also have full time experience coaching and running administration in youth football in Ireland and outside of Ireland, having spent time in the United States,for 18 months working primarily in Georgia with two brief stints in Massachusetts for Global Premier Soccer. I was part of the initial team that established the expansion franchise in Georgia. 

In this position I worked with players both boys and girls from 3-19 years old, in summer camps, school and after school programs and 7 days a week work for various soccer teams as a coach to designated teams and coach educator to parent coached sides. The teams I was involved with were recreational and competitive tournament sides. I also operated the social media side of Global Premier Soccer Georgia and was part of the sales and registration team. 

My time spent working with Global Premier Soccer expansion franchise in Georgia prepared me for working to deadlines- most notably when I was part of the team that set up a new soccer club from scratch in a one month window. This involved located practice and game facilities and registering the club and players with the Georgia Soccer Federation. working and communicating in a group as well as on individual projects. At GPS Georgia I had to communicate with soccer clubs, tournament organizers and governing bodies.I was part of the initial staff that helped to established GPS Georgia.

For my local club, Skibbereen AFC, I have coached the Premier U18 and U16 sides, Skibbereen minis(U6-u10) and the football for all program aimed at players with disabilities. 

Currently my day job is at the Wild Atlantic Pool Community Leisure Centre and Gym as a gym instructor, swim teacher and additional office work. Through my work in sport I partner with the Cork Sports Partnership, travelling one day a week to Cape Clear Island. The Island is  a 50 minute ferry journey. There I conduct fitness classes with adults and sports with the children of the island.
