I have a Master of Education degree from the University of Iceland, with a focus on elementary education and teaching, and over 8 years of experience as a youth football coach, head coach , analyst and the head of youth Academy at IA Akranes. I hold a UEFA A licence.
As the head of youth academy at IA Akranes, a leading football club in Iceland, I am responsible for developing and implementing the academy's vision, strategy, and curriculum, as well as coaching and mentoring the young players and staff.
I have been involved in the game of football since I remember and transforming from player to coach slow and steady in my adult years.

Head of youth Academy

In my day to day work as a head of youth I: - Organize the youth system from under 13 and up. - I coach the coaches and help them set up and organizing training session that suits the clubs DNA - Set up a player pathway in our club so every player has a clear pathway through the academy and to the senior team. - Helping the coaches focus on the four main aspects of player development and making sure that these four aspects are at sight in all of their training structure. 1. Tactical development 2. Technical development 3. Physical development 4. Mental development - Help players with their individual plan. - Find young talented players around the country and set up a trial for them. - Connect the Academy with the Senior Team, work closely with the staff of the first team. - The structure of the club is that we need to sell players to bigger clubs to be sustainable, so I need to find the selling products early and work with them individually.
