Tottenham Hotspur Foundation (the Foundation) is a registered charity and the community arm of Premier League football club, Tottenham Hotspur. The Club, through the Foundation, seeks to use the power and unique appeal of football to provide opportunities that change lives throughout its local community.
The Foundation is based at the Grade II-listed 18
th century Percy House on Tottenham High Road – painstakingly restored by the Club as part of the wider sport-led regeneration of the area. We are driven by a passion for creating positive change in people’s lives within an area of significant socio-economic deprivation, yet where a vibrancy and richness of talent and ambition exists. The Foundation harnesses and builds on this through a range of projects and initiatives to pursue, achieve and sustain desired impacts and outcomes, utilising partnerships within the private, not-for-profit, and public sectors.
The Foundation is seeking a full-time Youth & Community Manager to create, design and lead various programme initiatives. This will include responsibility for the overall implementation of Premier League-funded programmes, such as KICKS, and include other initiatives, designed to raise aspirations and create life-changing opportunities for children and young people. You will have a strategic approach to managing the service which will include pursuing/writing funding bids for developing the programme for children and young people. As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in managing staff, partner organisation relationships, and projects.
JOB PURPOSE:
To create, drive, and oversee the successful delivery of the Foundation’s Youth & Community programme, ensuring accessible engagement opportunities for 5 to 17-year-olds in our boroughs of operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, develop and manage activities that encourage participation and involvement of children and young people as beneficiaries of the Foundation, with particular focus on marginalised, vulnerable groups.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and other promotional information about the activities delivered ensuring alignment with the departmental and Foundation’s overarching business strategy.
- Ensure the implementation of appropriate safeguards and risk management processes are in line with Foundation policy and procedures and are embedded into all aspects of the service delivery.
- Oversee short and long-term planning including writing proposals, reports, drafting budgets, and agree Key Performance Indicators for each project.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff (staff rotas), taking into consideration budget allocation, staff-to-beneficiary ratios and staff skillset to create the best experience for all beneficiaries at all Youth & Community activities.
- Liaise with other departments on cross Foundation projects, including development to shape funding bids/reporting and the content team to maintain and shape community content.
- Create and structure co-creation and consultation activities with children and young people to inform service development.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, management and support of casual workers and volunteers in the delivery of specific activities and projects
- Establish relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders across relevant sectors and fields
- Represent the Youth & Community department at Premier League/ Premier League Charitable Fund conferences, and at other relevant events or forums.
- Support the wider business events and programme delivery as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Experience in a related role, within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable experience and passion for creating and delivering activities to children & and young people and experience and knowledge of the issues associated with living in inner city communities.
- Excellent organisational and administration skills and ability to work on own initiative and as an active team member
- Excellent people skills, adaptable and flexible in manner and approach with an understanding of how to motivate and develop staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as good listening skills with the ability to communicate with empathy and understanding
