The Role: Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the post are:
To develop players capable of playing for the Manchester United Women’s first team
To develop players capable of playing in the top two tiers of the Women’s professional game
To holistically support players across their dual careers
Academy
To produce and deliver a coaching and development annual plan for the Professional Development Phase in line with the Manchester United Women Redprint
To work closely with the 1st team coaching staff to support the player pathway and development plan into the 1st team environment
To plan and manage all training sessions and matches played by the Academy team
To devise and implement an annual dual career programme
To act as The FA’s primary contact for all Academy related matters and meetings.
Management of the relationships with partner FE and HE institutions and TASS/DiSE.
Training Session Delivery
To attend all training sessions and matches played by the Professional Development PhaseTo plan and prepare training sessions in accordance with the Redprint and the annual delivery plan
To plan and prepare for each match with particular emphasis on the learning objectives of the theme for the week and the needs of individual players
To deliver each session paying particular attention to the desired learning objectives in the session plan
The Person:
Minimum UEFA A licence holder
FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid)
Experience of and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite young and senior players
Track record of consistent high performance in a professional environment
Ability to demonstrate good session planning and strong organisational skills
Understanding of learning, development, and high performance with a proven ability to create optimum learning environments for players
Empathy with young players with an ability to inspire
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with Club staff
Understanding and empathy with education and learning with a strong commitment to personal development and training
Awareness of diversity and equality challenges in football
Commitment to the long-term development of the game
Willingness to work weekends
Ability to travel independently
Exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United’s internal and external customers
A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role
