Description

Birmingham City Women’s Team is seeking a dedicated Head Coach for our U21 team.

This role involves delivering high-quality player development programmes aligned with the Club’s playing philosophy and identity, to ensure holistic growth both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of the U21 player development curriculum, ensuring it aligns with technical and tactical standards

  • Select players for FA Women’s Super League Academy matches and tournaments

  • Provide pre- and post-match analysis with the club analyst

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) on training, matchday activities, and player transitions

  • Support talent identification and smooth player transitions alongside the Recruitment and Education Leads

  • Manage Individual Development Plans (IDPs), ensuring regular reviews throughout the season

  • Balance football commitments with players' academic priorities


What we're looking for in you:

Qualifications:

  • Essential UEFA B Licence, Introduction to First Aid in Football

  • Desirable UEFA A Licence, Emergency First Aid in Football


Skills & Experience:



    • Proven experience in elite football environments, senior coaching, and youth development

    • Able to communicate effectively with players, staff, and senior management, both written and verbal

    • Adaptability, innovation, and commitment to self-improvement and personal development

    • Practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work

    • Focused on individual player development and supporting the Club's football philosophy

    • Availability for flexible working hour




Additional Information:

  • Full-time role (37.5 hours/week), including evenings and weekends

  • Six-month probation period

  • DBS check and medical clearance required
