Description
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist to lead its Women’s Teams Medical operations primarily based at Clayton Wood Training Ground.
The successful applicant will report to the Women’s & Girls Performance Director and the Club Medical Lead and will be responsible for providing physiotherapy services to all players in the Women’s & Girls Teams, primarily focusing First Team, as well as promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of all players.
Main Responsibilities
• Liaising with the Women’s & Girls Performance Director and Club Medical Lead with information on injured players.
• Providing cover for all First Team training sessions and games and assisting with other teams as required.
• Assisting with implementing and coordinating screening and prehabilitation programmes for all players.
• Liaising with the Men’s First Team Head Physiotherapist and Head of Medical, assisting where required.
• Coordinating injury clinics to ensure excellent rehabilitation and seamless return to play of players.
• Creating a structured rehabilitation program for injured players, with pertinent objective markers to ensure safe progression.
• Producing availability reports for teams to ensure appropriate medical information is collected for the medical department’s monthly injury audit.
• Ensuring the relevant medical equipment is monitored, checked and ordered, within the required budget.
• Working with the Sports Science staff to implement effective testing and appropriate medical and physical screening, anthropometric assessments, physiological and fitness testing, movement and posture/functioning screening, and predictive maturation measurement.
Key Skills, Experiences and Qualifications
• Chartered Physiotherapist or qualified Sports Therapist. (Essential)
• HCPC Registered or valid SST membership. (Essential)
• EMFAiF (Essential)
• ITMMiF or ATMMiF qualification, or equivalents. (Desirable)
• Experience in working with elite athletes, creating and managing programmes to facilitate their long term athletic development.
• IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
• Full, clean driving licence is desirable.
