Description

Purpose:

As the Goalkeeping Coach at The Hibernian Football Club, you will play a critical role in developing and enhancing the skills of our goalkeepers. You will work closely with the coaching staff to ensure our goalkeepers perform at their best and contribute to the team's overall success. This role requires a strong understanding of soccer goalkeeping techniques, effective communication skills, and the ability to inspire and mentor elite athletes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a goalkeeper coach at a professional or elite level, preferably with women's teams.

  • Extensive knowledge of goalkeeping techniques, tactics, and strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to mentor and inspire goalkeepers.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the coaching staff and players.

  • Coaching certifications or licenses, as required by the league or governing body.

  • Passion for women's soccer and a commitment to advancing the women's game.


Experience:

  • Experience working in a Women's football environment

  • Experience in the preparation and delivery of Workshops and presentations

  • High levels of communication skills, both orally and written

  • Personable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic


Key Responsibilities:

Goalkeeper Training:

  • Design and implement goalkeeper training programs tailored to the individual needs of each goalkeeper.

  • Focus on improving goalkeeping fundamentals, such as shot-stopping, positioning, distribution, and decision-making.

  • Work with goalkeepers on agility, reflexes, and diving techniques.


Video Analysis:

  • Review game footage and provide feedback to goalkeepers to help them make improvements.

  • Analyse opponent strategies and identify areas of improvement for our goalkeepers.


Game-Day Preparation:

  • Assist goalkeepers in preparing for matches, including pre-match warm-ups and post-match recovery.

  • Collaborate with the coaching staff to develop game-specific goalkeeper strategies.


Mentoring and Communication:

  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for goalkeepers, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

  • Communicate effectively with goalkeepers to build their confidence and motivation.


Recruitment and Scouting:

  • Assist in scouting potential goalkeepers and provide input on player acquisitions.

  • Identify promising talent and provide recommendations to management.


Player Development:

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and coaching staff to ensure consistent player development across the team.


Compliance:

  • Stay updated with league rules and regulations and ensure goalkeepers adhere to them.
