We are excited to be searching for a Performance Analysis Pathway Lead to join our Women's Technical division. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of a performance analysis programme across England Women's pathway teams (U15 – U23), which supports England Winning.

What You'll Do?

  • Develop the strategy and direction for the department, aligned with the Women's Technical Strategy.

  • Design and lead a programme of performance analysis delivery across England Women's pathway teams.

  • Manage a team of Women's Pathway Analysts to enhance and/or challenge understanding and decision making surrounding technical and tactical performance.

  • Work closely with our data and technology department to generate key data outputs and impactful insight.

  • Develop and deliver a framework of data which aligns with England Women's How We Play at team and positional levels.

  • Work with stakeholders on key data/research projects which support the overall strategy and provide competitive advantage for our women's teams.

  • Shape tournament analysis support.

  • Develop a framework for the performance analysis team to support player development.

  • Manage the contribution of the Performance Analyst within the MDT planning and review process.

  • Manage the approach to in-depth tactical analysis with teams including opposition analysis, game planning, training, game review, post-camp player review and grading.

  • Develop good relationship with Senior Women's Analysts.

  • Lead the recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure the best possible provision for England Women's teams now and in the future.

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group's changing priorities.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.


What You'll Need?

Essential for the role:

  • A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in sports science or a related subject specialising in performance analysis.

  • Knowledge of the women's international game.

  • Extensive experience in delivering performance analysis in elite sports.

  • Excellent practical delivery of performance analysis with players and coaches.

  • Excellent operational management and planning skills.

  • Outstanding knowledge of and proficiency in the use of sports analysis systems and other relevant technologies.

  • Ability to create excellent relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to create presentations and deliver them to a wide range of stakeholders.


Beneficial to have:

  • Technical knowledge of football.

  • Knowledge of the elite female domestic game.

  • Knowledge of the England Talent Pathway.

  • Experience of managing / leading teams.

  • Experience of project management.

  • Experience driving an analysis programme.
