The RoleDevelop and inspire the next generation... We are excited to be searching for a Women's National Coach Developer, who will support the growth of the world's best coach development system and contribute to a winning World Cup.
You will be an integral member of the team, the Women's National Coach Developer will drive Coach Development in the senior women's game, specifically supporting high-performing coaches working within the Barclays Women's Super League (WSL) & Women's Championship (WC). Aligned with this, the role will identify and develop top coaching talent within the women's professional game academies.
The Women's National Coach Developer will provide support to targeted coaches in a personalised and connected manner. Predominantly working ‘in-situ', the role will provide bespoke coach development to the women's senior game. This will include the support of coaches working through their FA and UEFA qualifications, as well as bespoke continual professional development (CPD) on a regional and national level as part of the Senior Women's Coach Development team.

Our team designs and delivers the coaching pathway, and manages coaching badge qualifications, to raise the bar for our national game.
What will you be doing?
- To drive coach development within the senior women's game, working with clubs across the Barclays WSL & WC.
- Identify and support top coaching talent within the professional game academies.
- To support the delivery of FA education courses for coaches working in the senior women's game. Including, but not limited, to the UEFA A Coaching Course, UEFA Pro License and FA Coaching Excellence Initiative.
- To provide regional, in-situ support to coaches within designated clubs within the senior women's game.
- To support and deliver national CPD initiatives as part of the FA coach development team.
- To support the senior player-to-coach programme by providing individualised CPD to identified coaches.
- Develop mutually beneficial links inside and outside of football to ensure coaching content remains contemporary and relevant to the demands of the women's game.
- Support the delivery of the FA coach development team on a national level.
- To contribute to the strategic direction of the FA Technical Directorate, supporting the delivery of the targeted interventions, milestones, and goals outlined in the strategic plan.
- To actively promote and provide opportunities to enhance the diversity within the senior women's professional game.
- Lead and/or contribute to research into targeted subject areas to help support the Women's game.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.
- As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What are we looking for?Essential for the role:
- Experience in Coach Development in Women's football or other high-performance environments in elite sports.
- Excellent understanding of teaching and learning and adopts a variety of approaches based on individual needs.
- Mentoring experience within a sporting environment.
- A modern, progressive approach to coaching.
- Hold a minimum of UEFA B Licence.
- Women's football knowledge and experience working in the women's game.
- Experience in building and maintaining strong long-lasting stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in facilitating individual, small and large group sessions effectively.
- Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of communication and presenting skills.
- Ability to influence and persuade individuals and groups internally and externally with clear, well-researched views consistent with FA strategy on player and coach development.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and to build effective/collaborative internal relationships across the men's and women's coach development teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
Beneficial to have:
- Hold a UEFA A Licence.
- FA Licensed Affiliate Tutor.
- Knowledge of current issues that impact upon the development of our young female players (in all 4 corners.)
- Knowledge and understanding of the WSL, Women's Championship, Women's National Leagues and high-performing multi-disciplinary environments.
- Experience in developing Coach Developers in Women's Football and/or other football contexts.
- Undergraduate and/or Post Graduate degree in sports science or related area (or equivalent experience.)
- Teaching Qualification.
- Experience in creating and delivering digital content.
Please note that this is a home-based contract, however, the role will have a focus towards London and the South of England.
