JOB TITLE: Women’s - Loans Manager

DEPARTMENT: Women’s

JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for leading and managing the Women's loan pathway, ensuring the effective development of young football talents within the Chelsea FC/BlueCo programme. Includes but not limited to: strategic pathway planning, programme development, talent evaluation and ensuring the welfare of players to drive the success of the organisation's talent pathway.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

Develop and implement a comprehensive loan pathway strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
Lead the vision for the loan pathway within the organisation, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
Establish clear pathways and progression opportunities for young players within the organisation's structure.
Develop systems and processes that enable us to be able to identify the right players, timings, clubs and coaches for loan.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including youth academies, clubs and coaches.
Develop clear onboarding, offboarding and re-onboarding processes to ensure that each player is able to adjust to changes in their individual talent pathway, including being fully briefed on club culture, manager, playing style, cultural background, etc before going on loan.
Develop and implement robust player evaluation processes to identify and assess potential talent for our first team.
Work closely with the General manager, Head coach and Head of scouting, holding regular meetings and updates on the progress of all players in the loan programme. This will include updates on their playing minutes, on and off pitch performance, compliance and benchmarking to ensure that our players are given the best chance to reach the targets outlined throughout the duration of their loan.
Work closely with senior management in the first team programmes to ensure clear and aligned pathways for young players at the club.
Work closely with colleagues in the legal and finance departments to ensure optimal decision-making and information sharing.
Lead player case study reviews for players on loan, involving the Women’s scouting staff as well as key members of the interdisciplinary teams as appropriate.
Travel to visit players/clubs and attend matches, fostering key relationships to monitor player performance and enhance talent development.
Ensure comprehensive understanding of football rules and regulations affecting player recruitment and pathways.
Attend summits and events in order to expand networking and facilitated relationships with the view of loan players.
Foster a positive and supportive team culture focused on player development and success.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of talent development initiatives.
Monitor programme performance and provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Experience:

Worked in Women’s professional football for a minimum of two years
