Head Coach – Women’s First Team & Player Pathway

Full-time (Scottish Women’s Premier League) | Glasgow (hybrid programme)

Partick Thistle Women’s FC is changing fast. We’re moving from a traditional part-time setup to Scotland’s leading hybrid development club. That means daytime and evening training, clear education links and a player-first culture.

We aim to provide ambitious young female players the best pathways into professional football, balanced with education and career opportunities.

We’re recruiting an experienced and dynamic Head Coach to lead our First Team and play a central role in this exciting transformation. This is your chance to shape a club’s future, creating a lasting legacy on and off the pitch.

If you love building coaching programmes as much as developing players, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

We’re seeking a dedicated, inspiring coach with a proven track record of developing talent and achieving success at competitive levels. You will implement our new hybrid development model, balancing football excellence with education and player welfare.

Primary Responsibilities:

●     Lead and manage the Women’s First Team through structured daytime and evening hybrid training sessions, alongside matchday responsibilities.

●     Design and implement advanced training programmes and tactical strategies, ensuring alignment across the coaching team.

●     Embed Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for every player, working closely with our Player Development Manager to track progress and tailor support.

●     Build and foster a positive, ambitious team culture centred around personal growth, professionalism, and respect in line with the club’s core values (hard work, respect and fun, all in one dressing room).

●     Collaborate proactively with club management, support staff, and the Board to ensure cohesion and shared strategic direction.

●     Actively develop players who align with our vision, creating pathways for academy graduates and young signings.

●     Engage regularly with educational institutions and corporate partners to ensure effective dual-career pathways.

●     Continuously pursue your personal and professional development, demonstrating and modelling lifelong learning.

●       Work with club staff to monitor and evaluate player progress, delivering constructive feedback and personalised support to drive their ongoing development.

What you’ll bring:●     Proven coaching experience at a high level, ideally within women’s football or elite youth environments.

●     Passionate about player development, embracing our unique hybrid approach to football and life skills.

●     Leadership skills capable of inspiring and motivating and nurturing female athletes.

●     Strong tactical eye and up-to-date UEFA coaching methods.

●     Clear, confident communication on and off the pitch.

Why PTWFC?●     A blank canvas – help shape Scotland’s most exciting women’s pathway.

●     Real support – dedicated analysts, S&C staff, education partners and a Board that backs women’s football.

●     Community impact – on the pitch development opens doors for girls across Glasgow.

What you’ll get:●     Competitive full-time salary and bonus linked to player progression and development.

●     Dedicated support from specialists including a Player Development Manager, analytics team, sports science staff, and commercial partners..

●     Access to Petershill Park and partner facilities.

●     An exciting, collaborative environment where you’ll help set standards, shape our playing philosophy, and establish a professional framework.
