The Women's Technical Division are looking for a Club Pathway Development Manager to work within Talent Pathway. The role will be to work with clubs to support them in developing future talent for club and country.

The role will work with a group of FA funded pathway programmes: Emerging Talent Centres (ETCs) and Pro Game Academies (PGAs) around talent development, workforce development, competition programmes and wider club development.

The successful candidate may have an expertise in one or more of these areas, and be willing to broaden their experience in other areas.

This role will be home working with some requirement to be based at The National Football Centre, St. George's Park, and as this role will be primarily supporting the Midlands and South Regions, travel to these areas is to be expected.

About the Team

Our FA Technical teams support all aspects of Men's and Women's elite performance – including para football, the elite format of disability football that runs parallel to the mainstream game – so we can help England teams to win tournaments.

Our teams manage everything from identifying talent to the development and coaching of multi-disciplinary teams throughout the age groups, up to our Senior England teams. To deliver on our goal we have invested heavily in developing a team of exceptional people capable of creating winning England teams at our world-class training facilities at our National Football Centre, St. George's Park.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Be a point of support for Professional Game Academies and Emerging Talent Centres

  • Work with clubs to develop a Blueprint plan that supports the future development of their club and players

  • Support clubs in developing;  - a vision and growth plan for their programme
    - an effective talent identification and recruitment plan
    - a challenging training and games programme
    - a holistic player development model

  • Support clubs in ensuring they have a comprehensive player education and player care model in place

  • Provide regular feedback on the player development within FA funded club programmes

  • Support club action planning in response to the system audit process

  • Plan a schedule of regular communication and visits to clubs / centres within the region

  • Support the workforce development and CPD related to FA funded programmes

  • Work with other departments in the FA to align support around player development. This includes England National Teams, The FA Coach Education team and the Professional Game team

  • Ensure effective partnership working with key stakeholders to diversify the base of talent entering the Talent Club Pathway

  • Deliver key projects or specialist responsibilities as outlined by the Lead Womens Club Support Manager

  • Contribute to the planning and review of the club pathway

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.


What You'll Need

Essential for the role:

Knowledge

  • Understanding and experience of high level player development

  • Understanding of how a talent system works


Experience

  • Experience in elite sport development

  • Experience of working in high performing environments

  • High level people skills and ability to build effective relationships with multi stakeholders

  • Strong and varied communication skills

  • Strong authenticity and integrity in approach

  • Experience of leading and influencing others

  • Ability to analyse and present information

  • Experience of managing projects and deadlines

  • Strong self motivation and self management


Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience of Excel

  • Advanced Microsoft Office

  • Experience of using a range of IT based programmes

  • Ability to create presentations and present to a wide range of key stakeholders


Beneficial to have:

Knowledge

  • Coaching qualification to Level 3

  • Business related qualification

  • Understanding of other nations and sports talent systems


Experience 

  • Experience in women's sport

  • Knowledge of the women's game

  • Experience in change management


Technical Skills

  • Basic use of data analysis tools
