Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Support player development in management of age group
- Planning and delivery of high-quality coaching and physical performance of the BCWFC Academy program
- Delivering and record keeping of physical testing
- Planning and delivery of off field learning opportunities
- Working as part of a MDT to organise an environment of excellence
- Ensure a consistent player development model
- Reporting and monitoring of players progress
- Contribute to the delivery of player IDP’s in line with club policy
- Attendance at club and externally organised CPD
- Completion of Academy monitoring tasks in line with club policy

Key Interfaces:

- Womens Acdemy Manager, 1st Team Physical performance manager
- Womens Academy age group coaches
- Bristol City FC cross departments

- Medical team and sports injury department

Skills & Experience

Essential:

- A qualification at degree level in sports Science, strength and conditioning or relevant subject area.
- A minimum of 1 year experience of sports science support within professional football.
- The applicant should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of sports science and/or strength and conditioning support in professional football.
- The applicant should have an understanding of how to use software and equipment relevant to sports science support in professional football including GPS systems, NordBord, ForceDecks, and FirstBeat.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of excel, word processing, presentation software, and other relevant data analysis software.
- Have empathy, be supportive and encouraging to developing others, working with integrity at all times.
- Have an open / growth mindset.
- Be an honest, clear communicator
- Enthusiastic and ability to engage with academy/college student and staff

Desirable:

- Previous experience of working within the Women’s game, at International, Women’s Super League or Championship level.
- A qualification at postgraduate level in sports science, strength and conditioning or relevant subject area.
- Relevant professional body accreditations (UKSCA, BASES)
- Football Coaching qualifications
