Hayes and Yeading Football Club is seeking a dedicated and passionate Academy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in coaching and mentoring young players, helping them develop their skills, teamwork, and overall understanding of the game. The role primarily involves training sessions on Fridays from 6 pm to 7 pm and Saturday Junior Premier League (JPL) games at Rectory Park.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to players during training sessions, focusing on improving their technical skills, tactical awareness, and physical fitness.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive team environment, fostering the development of good sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players.

  • Collaborate with the head coach to evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

  • Assist in organising and coordinating team activities, including warm-ups, drills, and game simulations.

  • Attend JPL games on Saturdays at Rectory Park and actively contribute to game preparation, strategy, and player substitution decisions.

  • Encourage a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork among players, motivating them to achieve their full potential.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and club officials, providing regular updates on training schedules, game fixtures, and any other relevant information.

  • Comply with the club's policies, including child safeguarding guidelines, health and safety protocols, and codes of conduct.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous coaching experience, preferably in a youth football environment.

  • A minimum FA Level 2 coaching qualification (or working towards it).

  • Sound knowledge of football coaching principles, techniques, and strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and club officials.

  • Enthusiasm and passion for youth development and promoting a positive footballing culture.

  • Ability to work well within a team and assist the head coach in implementing the club's coaching philosophy.

  • Availability to commit to regular Friday training sessions (6 pm - 7 pm) and Saturday JPL games at Rectory Park.

  • Valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or willingness to undergo one.
