Description

To coach the GK's within U23 squad, working with the multi-disciplinary team of staff to create an elite performance environment in which all players can develop. Contribute to the succession planning of young home-grown talent via our youth academy system.

Key responsibilities:

• Coach, motivate and develop GK's within the U23 squad – allowing the elite players within the group to achieve their maximum potential.
• Devise technical and tactical training sessions in line with the WUFC footballing philosophy and player needs.
• Ensure cohesion, conflict resolution and management of individual U23 GK's.
• Set, monitor and develop high quality professional standard and team ethic for the players.
• Implement individual learning plans for players.
• Work in collaboration with all Academy staff.

General responsibilities:

• Compliance with Club policies

• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
• Maintain professional conduct at all times

Safeguarding:

• This role involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults in a Regulated Activity (or in close proximity to children and/or vulnerable adults). This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the Club’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

Skills & Abilities:

• Able to identify, develop and support football talent.
• An understanding and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to solve tactical problems within a competitive and fast-moving environment.
• A clear sense of purpose to drive actions and inspire innovations amongst staff.
• Set and maintain a high standard of work performance, delivering quality consistently and effectively.
• Plan around fixed deadlines, display excellent problem solving skills, initiative & sensitivity.
• Possess communication skills that are clear, engaging and responsive to the target audience.
• Develop networks, create and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Have facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts.
• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of football tactics, player fitness and development.

Experience:

• Coaching and/or Management of players and staff within a Professional environment
• Experience working within a semi-professional or professional structure

Knowledge & Qualifications:

• Professional qualification at UEFA B-Licence level or higher
• Strong knowledge of football in terms of tactics, fitness and player development.
