Description

We are looking for someone to join our Professional Development Phase coaching team as our U18 Assistant Coach. Reporting to the Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, you will be responsible for assisting the U18 age group with regards to coaching, administration, operations and logistics. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that will support the holistic development of players within the professional development phase. You will support the development of players in the U18 age group in preparation for transitioning to the professional game. You will be a role model for all Club values and ways of working

Key Accountabilities:
To lead and assist coaching sessions and matchdays for U18 age group
To lead and assist on operational and administrative, logistical duties for U18 programme
To be part of the multi-disciplinary team for U18 age group to support a coordinated approach to player development across departments involving, but not restricted to performance analysts, sport scientists, physiotherapists, psychologists, Head of Coaching and operational, welfare and education staff.
To assist with the design and implementation of individual learning plans for each U18 player ensuring each player receives 6-week reports with weekly match feedback, 6-week MDT reports and four 4 Point Learning Plan reports across the season utilising Hudl for reviews as appropriate.
To follow and implement the Academy philosophy whilst contributing to its evolution.
To ensure a thorough working knowledge of the content and functions of the Academy performance plan
To ensure player welfare is always the primary consideration in all player activities.
To attend all staff meetings (unless exceptional circumstances apply).
To support the daily, weekly and monthly transport requirements of the Professional Development Phase.
To support with additional age groups as required.
To maintain a current and up to date status with all work and communication involving the Kitman Labs and sport session planner software (including coaching sessions, game time and all aspects of the individual learning plans (ILP's).
To be responsible for age group equipment, ensuring it is fit for use at all times and checked in/out.
To ensure all age group kits are in order for Academy games and are checked in/out.
To take an active role in the induction process for trialists, providing a positive introduction to the Academy
To ensure 4 x7’s reports are submitted for trialists to the Academy recruitment department.
To be committed to personal development and the actioning of personal development action plan and attendance of Academy CPD events (unless exceptional circumstances apply)

Person Specification:
Qualifications: Essential - UEFA A Licence; FA Advanced Youth Award; Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).

Experience: Essential - Experience of working in a fast paced Elite sport environment; Previous experience working as part of a multidisciplinary player development team. Desirable - Previous experience of working with players from diverse cultural backgrounds in the professional development phase in a Category 1 academy setting

Knowledge: Essential - Key Pillars of Player Development. Desirable - knowledge of EPPP

Skills: Essential - Ability to give & receive feedback; proficient IT skills

Attitude: Essential - Proactive ‘can-do’ approach to work and those around them; Resilient to difficult situations; Passionate and hard working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; Self-motivated and capable of motivating those around them
