We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool Football Club Women’s team as a PGA U16s Physical Performance Coach on a casual basis. The purpose of this role is to deliver and manage high quality individual and team based physical development programmes for the LFCW PGA U16s squad.
What will you be doing?
- In collaboration with the LFCW PGA U21s Physical Performance Coach, implement a high quality and individualised season long physical programme curriculum. The programme curriculum will include, but not be limited to, strength and power enhancement, speed enhancement, agility and movement skills refinement, endurance capacity increase and injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
- To attend all LFCW PGA U16s training sessions and matches throughout the season.
- To plan and deliver high quality sessions for the LFCW PGA U16s squad and individuals in collaboration with the LFCW PGA U16s coaching staff and the LFCW PGA U16s physiotherapist/sports therapist.
- To arrange, lead and perform fitness testing for all LFCW PGA U16s squad players and any players involved in external talent identification processes. Use the results to inform whole squad and individualised training programmes.
- In collaboration with the LFCW PGA U16s physiotherapist/sports therapist support and lead rehabilitation programmes.
- In collaboration with the LFCW PGA U16s physiotherapist/sports therapist design and deliver individual injury prevention programmes for players within the LFCW PGA U16s squad.
- In collaboration with the LFCW PGA manager and the LFCW PGA U21s Physical Performance Coach, communicate with parents/carers regarding any physical performance queries, generally, and specifically to their children.
- Ensure high levels of professionalism and player confidentiality at all times.
- To liaise with international associations, always maintaining strong and professional relationships.
- To work optimally within your prescribed scope of practice and within the rules and guidelines of your professional body.
- To attend and contribute to FA CPD events and further training as required.
- To implement daily monitoring of LFCW PGA U16s players’ wellbeing and make appropriate changes to training, loading etc as required.
- To maintain contemporaneous documentation of physical assessments, rehabilitation and other pertinent information is maintained to a high standard on the Women’s Performance System (WPS)
Who are we looking for?To be successful in this role, you will have experience in both physical performance within an elite sporting environment and player monitoring and workload management. You will the understanding of the following FA or equivalent codes of conduct and regulation and the knowledge in collection and management of GPS data.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with recent and relevant professional experience in a performance sport environment. It is important you can demonstrate the ability to create positive working relationships with all key stakeholders, including players and player’s families.

Essential Qualifications for this position
- BSc in Sports Science or a Sports Science related discipline
- UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) qualification (can be in progress) or NSCA CSCS or ASCA Level 2 or above.
- Football Association Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualification
