This is an exciting time at Newcastle United and we are looking for talented individuals to help us identify and recruit our next generation of talent. As such, we are looking for experienced and innovative regional scouts to identify and assess high quality players from clubs in the local area who have the capability to sign for the Academy.

This part time role will work closely with our Lead Regional Scouts and Head of UK Scouting by communicating a target driven approach to recruitment. Providing cross referencing with other national full time and part time members of the scouting team to update the data base on a weekly basis to facilitate a collaborative approach.
Joining our passionate Scouting Team, you will be an experienced youth Scout with significant experience in the identification of talented sporting youngsters and an in-depth knowledge of E.P.P.P relating to Professional football Academies.
You will be responsible for clubs within your region but not exclusive to scouting that area only. From time to time you may be required to travel from your region to help with a targeted approach to the scouting schedule (in line with regulatory guidance) You will review who has the capability to sign for the Academy supporting the decision making process on whether to sign, monitor or forget a potential target.
With significant experience of working with video footage as well as live games and assessing talent and report writing you will provide comprehensive national scouting updates in the age groups you are responsible for to the Lead regional Scouts, Head of UK Scouting and Head of Youth Recruitment.
Possession of the FA Talent ID Level 2 certification and FA Safeguarding Certificate are essential, with FA Talent ID Level 3 and FA Basic First Aid for Sport being highly desirable. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
The nature of this role also means that unsocial hours working and travel are a key element of the position.

JOB SUMMARYTo identify and assess high quality players from outside the club’s 60 minute catchment area who have the talent and capability to sign for the Academy. Work closely with the South Lead to implement a targeted and measured approach to young talent identification for Newcastle United. Work collaboratively with the South Lead and the Head of Youth Recruitment to ensure effective targeting of players in compliance with EPPP and PL guidelines and regulatory framework.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES• Operate within the desired framework, profile, and methodology as set by the Club.
• Identify players from professional and grass roots clubs and academies outside the local 60 minute catchment area who have the capability to sign for the Academy. These areas and clubs will be specifically assigned by the South and North lead, so they have accountabilities at U13- U18.
• Develop intel of games, players, competitors, and fixtures to inform the South Lead
• Deliver effective reports on players to aid decision making as to whether to sign, monitor or disregard a potential target, as per the recruitment methodology.
• Send comprehensive local Recruitment updates in age group, positions, and recommendations to Professional Club Scout at U13-U18s on a monthly basis.
• Review and analyse the talent pipeline within the club through observation of the club’s U13- U18 players at both Home and Away games.
• Where required, support induction of players/targets and their families into the Academy facilities and ethos.
• Ensure that the team working concept (the Newcastle Way) is at the forefront of strategy in relationships internally and externally to the Club.

• Maintain an awareness of data best practice and ensure working practices are appropriate in collaboration with club’s legal/compliance/other relevant functions;
• Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) training and/or additional training as identified or as required.
• Ensure that the working practices of the Academy Recruitment team meet the requirements of the EPPP and the rules of football’s governing bodies.
• Represent and advocate for the Recruitment team standards throughout all areas of the club and wider community.

• Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable• Scouting experience within a Premier League football club..
• Has a good network within clubs, leagues, and associations in their assigned0 geographical areas.
