The FA are excited to be searching for a Therapist, to work as emergency pitch-side cover on a Casual basis. As an experienced Therapist, you will provide excellence in clinical care and ensure patients receive a world-class service.  You will assist in the delivery of medical cover for events at St Georges Park.  You will play a key role in providing emergency pitch side care.  Ensuring effective running of the medical facilities at St Georges Park for pitch side emergency cover and maintaining equipment levels.

What You'll Do?

  • Provide excellence in prehospital clinical skills and embrace the challenge of pitch-side medicine.

  • Ensure effective deployment to areas requiring cover in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all patients are treated in an effective and timely manner relevant to the individual's condition.

  • Effectively manage emergency and acute injuries on the field of play.

  • Refer on any injuries that require Emergency Department intervention as per the SGP policy.

  • Management of acute injuries for the duration of the coaching courses/events.

  • Liaise with the Education and Operations team throughout events to ensure the smooth running of events.

  • Ensure effective communication inter-professionally and inter operatively (where required).

  • Work with other HCP (Health Care Professionals) to enhance communication and care (where necessary).

  • Ensure that the storage and administration of medicines are carried out according to professional standards and WNSL regulations and monitor the effects of medication use (Where appropriate).

  • Adopt PGD's produced by The FA and feed into the audit cycle in regard to the use of such medicines.

  • At all times when working at SGP you will comply with SGP policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to and comply with COVID regulations and Protocols.

  • You will undertake any administrative duties required as part of the role.

  • Completion of documentation is paramount for all patients seeking medical care and you shall complete these to the approved professional standard. Confidentiality and data protection must be observed at all times.

  • Any clinical governance strategy / clinical audit that details your participation shall be fully engaged with and you should strive to help develop the care and provision at SGP.

  • Support the management team in setting and monitoring standards and seek to continuously improve standards and the quality of patient care.

  • Should SGP have any reason to contact you regarding events at SGP you shall always fully cooperate and give the required information in a timely manner.

  • To have an understanding of infection control policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.

  • Personal responsibility for safety as outlined in the WNSL Health and Safety Policy and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

  • A leading role in ensuring equity in employment opportunities and in access to healthcare and treatment.

  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to personal data held for patients, ensuring that it is processed lawfully; for no purpose other than that for which it was obtained; is relevant to that purpose and is protected from accidental loss or damage in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act (as amended), and records management guidance.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient-identifiable personal data using a non-identifiable alternative, where practicable, and limit access on a strictly need-to-know basis in accordance with the responsibilities of SGP.

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.


What You'll Need?

Essentially for the role:

  • HCPC Registration, SoST (Society Sports Therapy) or BASRAT  British Associations Sports Rehabilitation and Trainers registration.

  • Relevant experience in pitch-side management of medical emergencies.

  • Hold an ITMMIF or / ATMMIF certificate.

  • Appropriate level of fitness and good health.


Beneficial to also have:

  • ILS Certificate (Resuscitation Council)

  • Post Grad Certificate.
