MANCHESTER UNITED                    TECHNICAL SYSTEMS ARCHITECT


The Purpose 

The successful candidate will be helping to deliver software and system designs for multi-tiered modern cloud solutions across the integrated business of Manchester United.
You would be exposed to high profile, digital and business transformational projects which are some of the most complex and innovative in the market today. This role is fast paced, high pressure and requires a dedicated professional with the depth and breadth of technical knowledge to support the business digital transformation journey.

The Role

  • Delivery of large-scale complex systems and solutions with an IT pedigree, and experience within a business and digital transformation environment.

  • Able to work as part of the existing team, simply and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation, and presentations.

  • Have a hands – on approach with the development ream and high level conceptual thinking.

  • Defining the underlying platform architecture to support the product roadmap for Manchester United Official App and Web, considering ticketing, e-commerce, and CRM as other significant integration points.


The Person

  • Full Stack, AWS, ReactJS, Swift, Kotlin and Java, Web-Services, NoSQL data stack, SOLR Search and Indexing system.

  • Dedicated Technical Architect with a proven track record in delivering projects on a global scale.

  • Experience delivering software/solution designs for multi-tiered modern web-based cloud solutions.

  • Experience of technical ownership for a product/software project, including architecture, estimation, technical product planning and requirement gathering.

  • Experience with public cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS, PaaS, DBaaS, IaaS offerings.

  • Ability to understand both functional and non-functional requirements and has experience incorporating these into detailed solution designs.

  • Awareness of OWASP cyber security standards and GDPR regulatory requirements.

  • Able to perform technical review and analysis of 3rd party components for suitability to the business needs including gap analysis.
