Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scouting & Recruitment department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Technical Scout. Reporting to the Head of Technical Scouting, the Technical Scout will be responsible for conducting extensive video scouting, reporting & analysis on potential target players in collaboration with the Positional Scouts & Player Insights team to support the player identification and assessment process.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive video scouting & analysis to support the player identification & assessment process.

  • Generate scouting reports on potential target players.

  • Manage positional scouting lists to prioritise & monitor players from senior & emerging talent markets.

  • Create and maintain video databases on potential target players.

  • Create detailed videos, dossiers & presentations on target players.

  • Collaborate with the Player Insights team on the development & application of data analytics.

  • Collate, manage & co-ordinate scouting information & market intelligence.

  • Work in collaboration with the Positional Scouts to ensure efficient market coverage.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Extensive experience working within professional football in a Technical Scouting role or similar.

  • Broad knowledge of domestic and international markets.

  • Demonstrable Tactical/Technical football knowledge and understanding.

  • Completed or working towards a FA Talent Identification qualification is desirable.


Technical Skills

  • Proficient in the use of industry leading video analysis tools such as Wyscout, Catapult Matchtracker/Focus & CoachPaint.

  • Video Editing and Presentation skills.

  • Experience of applying data to support player identification and assessment process.
