Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Premiership Professional Football Club based in Edinburgh. The Football Club is looking to recruit a new role as a Technical Scout to lead the club’s scouting and recruitment process. The right candidate will work with the Data Analyst to produce high quality work in line with the club’s recruitment vision through video scouting and analysis.
Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, the role will support the Player Recruitment Team by preparing high-quality videos and dossiers on players throughout the scouting and recruitment process. The successful applicant will be highly innovative and passionate about improving the efficiency of the scouting and recruitment process, particularly the methodology stage of the process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality videos, dossiers and documents on players, in various stages of the scouting and recruitment process.
- Extensive video scouting and analysis to identify potential targets, that will be followed up with live games where process.
- Highlight and track progress of relevant players in the scouting and recruitment
- Attend live games, to follow up on any players identified.
- Support the Player Recruitment team during all stages of the recruitment peocess.
- Continuously strive to improve the efficiency of the Clubs scouting and recruitment process.
- Work closely with the Data Analyst to produce dossiers and documents on recommended players, in line with the high standards of the department.
- Complete Ad hoc tasks as assigned from the Head of Recruitment and Sporting
- Strive to improve the methodology of the scouting and recruitment process within the club through CPD.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience working in an Elite level football environment
- Experience of working with video footage
- Experience of video/ live scouting
- Experience of using Wyscout, and other appropriate software
- FA Talent ID Level 3 (Desirable)
- Committed to continuous professional development
- Competent working with data and providing insight
- Creative presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Driving Licence
