The rehabilitation therapist will support the Lead Academy Physiotherapist in the development, organisation and implementation of medical screening, health education, injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes for Academy players. There will also be an expectation to provide training and matchday medical cover as required.
About YouQUALIFICATIONS: Sports Therapy Degree / BASRaT or equivalent
MANAGEMENT OF INJURIES
- Deliver high-quality medical services for all FGR Women players.
- Implement evidence-based practice and utilise advanced clinical reasoning skills during the rehabilitation process.
- Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure they are fully briefed on player injuries and rehabilitation progress.
ACTIVATION
- Deliver a 10-20 minute activation warm up at the start of training sessions.
INJURY PREVENTION
- Work alongside the Sport Science Department to develop and implement effective injury prevention and prehabilitation strategies.
- Conduct evidence based musculoskeletal screening to inform individualised injury prevention programmes focused on addressing relevant injury risk factors.
MEDICAL PROVISION AT MATCHES
- Lead on match day cover for games (predominantly Sundays)
- Ensure there is appropriate medical cover at all fixtures, ensuring that the competition standards are met, and that appropriate provision is in place to maintain standards set out in emergency action plans.
- Ensure medical equipment is maintained and that Emergency procedures are regularly reviewed.
ADMINISTRATION
- Ensure all medical notes are logged and stored appropriately.
- Take an active role in the development of medical policies and procedures.
CONTINUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Take responsibility for their own continued professional development ensuring that they keep up to date with current practices.
- Strive to advance working practices within the Medical Department.
