Are you a dedicated Sports Scientist eager to make a difference in women's football? Birmingham City Women’s Football Club is looking for a skilled Sports Scientist to support our Women's Department in capturing and interpreting performance data to enhance player development and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support & Development: Assist in providing sports science and strength and conditioning for the Women’s program.
- Data Management: Lead in capturing daily data, including testing, training, and physiological monitoring data.
- Data Presentation: Present data to coaches and players daily, or as needed.
- Medical Collaboration: Support the medical team with data capture and insights for return-to-play purposes.
- Program Delivery: Aid in delivering football-specific, periodized strength and conditioning programs on and off the field.
- Athlete Development: Design and implement structured, sequential athlete development programs across the women’s pathway.
- Staff Development: Deliver CPD sessions to staff, sharing knowledge on data capture and analysis.
- Player Education: Conduct workshops and 1-1 sessions to educate players on data capture and interpretation.
- Technology Integration: Stay updated on the latest data capture software, its interpretation, and usage.
- Best Practices: Implement athlete development guidelines in line with best practices for the Women’s Pro Game.
- Other Duties: Perform any other duties necessary to the role.
What we're looking for in you:Essential:
- BSc in Sports Science or related discipline
- Postgraduate education and industry-standard professional qualification
- Experience with team monitoring systems (GPS & Heart Rate)
- Experience working with elite athletes
- Attendance at UKSCA workshops and working towards full accreditation
- FA Safeguarding Certificate
Desirable:
- MSc in Sports Science or related discipline
- Attendance at ISAK workshops and working towards full accreditation
- Experience working in Women’s Football
