About this role:Crystal Palace Football Club are seeking a Sport Science Analyst to join our Sport Science & Medical Department to collaborate with colleagues from other departments and provide the best support to the first team playing squad to ultimately support the implementation of Crystal Palace Football Cub performance strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the monitoring, profiling, and evaluation of all first team squad players
- Lead on monitoring strategies that aim to assess the physical condition of first team players and provide recommendations to the multi-disciplinary on necessary steps to minimize the risk of injuries and optimize performance;
- Oversee the data collection and analysis of technical, tactical, physical and other relevant data, and provide data-driven insights to key stakeholders;
- Assist in the design and implementation of evidence-based protocols for return to train and return to play processes, and manage the training reintegration process with the medical department;
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with Medical & Sports Science Department, as well as the wider Club network to support effective operational delivery;
- Keep up-to-date with latest scientific and technical innovations for applied practice, to ensure best Sports Science practice is implemented within the Club;
- Liaise with Academy Medical & Sports Science Department to ensure a safe and efficient transition for players between the Academy and First Team;
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team (Medical, Analysis, and Coaching colleagues) to deliver excellent outcomes in an elite performance environment.

Experience and Skills:Essential
- Extensive understanding of sports science and related disciplines, including their impact on athletic performance
- At least 2/3 years’ experience as an applied practitioner in sports science in an elite sporting environment
- Experience using coding language (Rstudio, Python) and visualization tools (PowerBI, ggplot) to store, analyse and visualise different data sources and format
- Experience in conducting scientifically underpinned assessment, monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Experience of using data management systems to ensure the secure and efficient storage of data (Smartabase)
- High quality communicator, able to use a range of styles to support and influence key stakeholders, whilst maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- A professional and flexible approach to working hours, in order to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Strong IT skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining relevant records.
Desirable
- Experience in laboratory and field-based assessment such Vo2max, lactate, force velocity profile
- Knowledge about database or cloud-based solutions such SQL, AWS, Fabric.
Qualifications:Essential
- BSc in Sports and Exercise Science or related discipline;
- MSc in Sports and Exercise Science or related discipline;
- Professional Strength and Conditioning qualification (UKSCA, ASCA, or NSCA
