Description

The role will work as part of the DMUsport team to oversee and develop Social Sport and Club programmes, line managing 2 Coordinators to ensure efficient and effective delivery is in place across the academic year.


The Sport Development Officer shall lead on activity to engage inactive students, embed student voice throughout all activity and empower student leaders to deliver across programmes to continually endeavour to improve the service provided to students. This will be underpinned by management of project budgets, adherence to relevant health and safety policies and development of processes and systems to support delivery.


To be successful, you will be passionate about the wider benefits of sport and physical activity to participants and communities, with experience of creating and implementing programmes of activity with a range of stakeholders, recruiting, and supporting the workforce to deliver them successfully.


A creative team player, who can adapt and engage with a range of audiences in a student-facing role. You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and demonstrate direct impact on the student experience. The successful candidate will spend their initial time meeting stakeholders, reviewing & identifying opportunities for programme delivery and development, and implementing any changes ready for the 2024/25 academic year.
