Description
We are looking for a Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for working closely with the Chief Commercial and Engagement Officer to drive the departments commercial revenues by selling high value, purpose driven packages to partners.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY
* In close coordination with the CC&EO and in cooperation with the department, the Sponsorship Sales Manager will lead various sales processes (tenders and/or negotiations) with existing or potential new commercial partners.
* The focus will be on increasing the department’s revenue by selling high value purpose driven partnership packages to global and/or regional partners.
* Building and continuously updating the prospect lists utilising network and experience, but also using macro and micro market trends, in-depth product knowledge and a deep understanding of brand marketing in identifying relevant customers, industries and additional regions for collaborations.
* Creating customised and compelling sales materials for different industries and customers.
* Building strong relationships with potential customers across all possible customer touchpoints, e.g. via phone, email, LinkedIn, networking events and meetings.
* Representing and presenting the FAW to the wider market, utilising b2b marketing activities to identify sales leads.
* Initiating and organising qualified sales meetings.
* Tracking all outreach via CRM system and ensuring CRM is up to date at all times.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Your Profile
You have several years of relevant professional experience in the area of revenue generation in sport (via licensing/marketing of licence rights and marketing as well as additional knowledge in the areas of merchandising, sports business and sponsorship).
You are an excellent team player with a strong service mentality, whose strengths include a structured and conscientious way of working and strong intercultural skills.
Sound knowledge of project management, excellent MS Office skills and excellent written and spoken English round off your profile.
Educated to a degree level. A degree in business administration, sports management or sports economics with a focus on marketing, communication, media or international management or have completed a comparable degree programme would be advantageous.
Alongside enthusiasm for football in particular, you should also demonstrate the following abilities:

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous.
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the FAW. In addition, the FAW will ask to see evidence of right to work in the UK.
