Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit a School Sports Coordinator to assist in the effective delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars project within the organisation; responsible for the coordination and delivery of high-quality PE provision, mentoring teachers and apprentices, and providing support to teachers to improve their confidence in delivering PE and lesson planning.
You will:
- Provide high quality PE provision to partner primary schools in Wigan and the surrounding area.
- Work with primary school teachers to provide mentoring and support to improve their confidence and understanding in delivering and planning school sport and PE
- Organise and deliver teacher training workshops to designated primary schools and staff as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
- Support the Primary Schools Manager and Assistant Primary Schools Manager in the planning and delivery of specific primary school CPD for our primary schools team.
- Ensure that all activities delivered are in line with the Primary School Curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
- Support a range of education programmes for primary school pupils covering literacy, numeracy, PSHE, and social action projects.
- Liaise with partner schools to manage and coordinate the provision based on their needs.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with designated primary schools and their key staff including head teachers and PE leads.
You will be:
- NGB Level 2 Coaching Award or 1st 4sport Level 2 Award in Multi Skills Development in Sport.
- Have a proven track record of successfully delivering sports coaching in schools to young people of all abilities and ages.
- Experienced in building and maintaining effective relationships with schools and liaising with school staff at all levels.
- Able to travel to different sites to deliver sessions.
