We have an exciting opportunity available for an individual to join Hull City Football Club as a Retail Store Manager, for our brand-new store opening soon in York.
Working closely with the Head of Retail, you will play an integral part in setting up of our new space, agreeing and implementing a retail store plan and helping to onboard a team of Retail Assistants. You will be responsible for the daily running of the store, driving team performance and ensuring our customers have a great shopping experience with us.
We are really excited to start our new journey in York and are looking for someone with proven leadership and commercial experience to join our growing team.

Your key responsibilities
• Manage and develop an efficient and profitable retail store
• Recruit, develop and coach a full retail team, ensuring they are fully trained
• Responsible for team management and performance reviews
• Identify new product opportunities for stores customer profile
• Effectively manage retail stock within store
• Undertake stocktakes as required
• Manage and review sales data and performance
• Accountable for visual merchandising and shopfloor moves to maximise sales potential, including key seasons and product launches, e.g., Kit launch, Christmas
• Drive the stores performance, ensuring high standards of customer service and compliance is maintained
• Utilise local knowledge to plan events and offers to increase sales and profit
• Work closely with Head of Retail to ensure all objectives and targets are met
• Liaise with other internal departments when required
What are we looking for?
• Previous experience within a managerial position, 2-3 years (essential)
• Experience in a fast paced retail environment (essential); experience in a similar sports retail environment (desirable)
• Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and drive a team day to day
• Excellent product knowledge and awareness of what makes an excellent shopping experience
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong numerical/analytical skills
• Ability to make smart commercial decisions
• Some flexibility to travel will be required on occasion
• The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position may be subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
