What You'll Do?

• To adjudicate on ALL types of non-serious case(s) within Grassroots Football.
• To correctly administer the inquisitorial hearing procedures.
• To apply FA Disciplinary Regulation correctly and adhere to relevant procedures.
• To where appropriate/requested draft written reasons and/or attend the Board of Appeals as requested by Judicial Services.
• Ensure the application of the fair disciplinary hearing to participant(s) involved.
• To provide feedback on the hearing through the disciplinary survey.
• To ensure full compliance with the Discipline Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.
• Satisfy the time commitments required as listed.
• Satisfy the administration requirements as listed.

What You'll Need?

Essentially for the role:

Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of the disciplinary process in football or other similar setting.
- Strong understanding of the inquisitorial process.
- Be able to apply discipline regulation as drafted.
- Strong understanding of the FA Appeals Process.
- Able to recognise a personal conflict and not be in a position of conflict.

Experience:

- Experience as a disciplinary panel member within a County Football Association or similar setting.
- Experience of dealing with preliminary matters before a disciplinary hearing.
- Not currently working within the discipline environment for a County Football Association.
- Not previously removed from the County Football Association discipline panel.
- Experience of dealing with Young People within a disciplinary setting or similar.

Technical Skills:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office/Products.
- Be able to coherently formulate written reasons for decisions.

Beneficial to also have:

Knowledge:

- Understand the disciplinary challenges CFAs face.
- Understand the secondary challenges to disciplinary decisions i.e. SCOR/SCORY.
- Be legally qualified.

Experience:

- Experience of practising law within the courts or arbitral setting.
- Experience of working on Appeal Boards.

Administration commitments:

- Ensure any written reasons are returned to the applicable County FA within 3 working days of hearing.
- Ensure attendance of the bi-annual Regional Discipline Panel briefing.
- Ensure attendance at all modular training sessions.
- Ensure all mandatory assessments are undertaken and passed before expiry period.
- Sign Discipline Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.
- Attend Board of Appeal hearings when called upon.
