The PDP Development Coach is a new and exciting role within the Academy at Norwich City Football Club. Working alongside the Head of Football Development, the PDP Development Coach, will contribute to the development of players and coaches across the U18-U21 age groups.
The role will be practical in nature, and we are looking for an experienced individual who is comfortable “on the grass”, contributing to the delivery of high-quality coaching and supporting the current coaching structure. This role also requires an enthusiasm to be working with and improving players across various age groups.
The Academy PDP Coach will work alongside other Academy PDP Coaches to deliver the football development programme within the PDP, driving the Academy’s productivity and player development pathways.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record in Youth Development and coaching, with experience of operating within a senior football management environment.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Academy Coaching, other Academy PDP Coaches, the Head of Academy GK Coaching, the Academy Manager, the Head of Football Development, and alongside all other MDT support functions to deliver a best-in-class football development programme for our PDP players.
- Work in collaboration with coaches in the Academy Coaching Team to deliver the Academy Performance Plan (APP), and in particular a whole-Club Playing Style and Coaching Philosophy to standardise practice and ensure alignment.
- Link Player Performance Reviews to the learning outcomes of the Academy Coaching Programme via data and video analysis.
- Along with relevant support staff, ensure that the training programme is clearly planned with clear and measurable objectives.
- Other general duties, including but not limited to attendance of academy meetings to ensure appropriate departmental communication, individua coach development plans, appropriate CPD programmes and any other reasonable duties as requested by the Academy Manager.

Qualifications/ExperienceEssential
- UEFA A Licence
- FA Advanced Youth Award
- FA Safeguarding Workshop Qualification (in-date)
- EFAiF Level 2 First Aid Qualification (in-date)
- Experience of working within Academy football
Desirable
- Knowledge of the FA and PL rules and regulations in regard to Youth Development
- Degree in relevant discipline
