Norwich City Football Club are seeking an outstanding individual to develop the holistic development of our young players and to support their families during their Academy experience.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate that will be a key asset in the personal development of young people as both an individual and a player. They will be responsible for developing personal wellness plans to ensure that our players feel psychologically safe, and are ready for life both in, and beyond, football.
The ideal candidate will have experience in working with elite young athletes, with the ability to understand the emotional and wellbeing challenges this may bring.
The role will be based at the Lotus Training Centre, Norwich.
Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To develop and embed a strong listening culture with Academy players, parents, carers, staff, and care & accommodation providers, to enrich the Academy experience and maximize player growth.
- To deliver age relevant parental workshops to promote understanding of Academy strategy.
- Support the Head of Safeguarding in establishing, maintaining and, when necessary, implementing a complaints procedure for Academy Players and Parents.
- Ensure that each player trained under the Full-Time Training Model and/or in the Professional Development Phase can engage in external activities which will encourage them to take an active part in the community, develop an understanding of good citizenship and social wellbeing.
- To support Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) information, and enhance Individual Development Plans, through the completion of comprehensive wellness plans for each player.
- To ensure all safeguarding concerns are accurately recorded and to effectively manage those cases allocated to yourself.
- Contribute to the Academy response in attending PDP, YDP, FDP tours, tournaments, and overnight competitions in respect of supporting the players. Leading on welfare aspects of the tour and providing documentation to ensure effective planning and execution.
