About this role:

  • Lead the Education, Carers and Lifestyle support programme within the PGA and academy age groups.

  • Holistically lead the MDT on the IDP process for each individual player throughout the season as well as ensure the tracking of players target grades and attainment.

  • Liaise with external partners to create, develop and where needed, deliver the Lifestyle curriculum in the PGA.

  • Ensure the PGAs programme adheres to or exceeds FA PGA licence requirements across both parts of the role


Responsibilities:

  • Design and periodically review the education, careers and lifestyle curriculum.

  • Seek input and respond to feedback from other staff in the development and the delivery of the curriculum.

  • Work with PGA coaches to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach.

  • Oversee the work of staff to ensure PGA practice supports holistic player development in their learning and development by ensuring a consistent approach to the IDP process as a collaborative MDT

  • Work with the PGA’s Academy Manager to ensure that the wellbeing and welfare of all players and staff is always an operational priority as well as assisting with Staff Development and Continual Professional Development for all staff

  • Through being a role-model, contribute to the development of a learning environment where people take responsibility for their own development, feel able to learn from their mistakes, experiment and show humility

  • Be a role model of good personal wellbeing practice, and therefore show the way to the staff for sustainable performance

  • Work to develop and maintain positive relationships with PGA delivery partners (eg, The FA, clubs and schools)

  • Participate in the audit and accreditation process from the clubs perspective.

  • Provide data on educational outcomes.

  • Maintain good working relations and liaise regularly with Club Safeguarding and Player Liaison

  • Lead and manage external workshops and partnerships

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • TALS or APDL Qualified (provided via TASS)

  • FA DBS

  • FA Safeguarding Children

  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or Emergency First Aid

  • Degree level qualification in Psychology, Player Care or related subject area
