Job Description
The Purpose:
To perform a leading role in the identification, recruitment, and retention of the best UK players for the Academy/First Team from 17 to 20 years of age, in line with the Club’s Recruitment Philosophy. Assuming accountability for the national Scouting Network and the strategic implementation of the Talent ID Strategy.
The Role:
The Phase Scout (17-20) is responsible for scouting and evaluating football talent within the specified age group (17-20). This role requires a deep understanding of football scouting, the ability to identify and assess promising players, and the capacity to provide valuable player information and recommendations to support player recruitment efforts. The Phase Scout will collaborate with the scouting team, coaching staff, and recruitment department to identify and track potential talent for the club.
The Person:
For the role of Phase Scout 17-20, we will be looking for someone who possesses the following qualities and qualifications:
Player Identification: Identify and track emerging talent within the 17-20 age group, focusing on players who have the potential to join the club's youth development system or senior squad.
Scouting Network: Collaborate with fellow scouts and data analysts to ensure comprehensive coverage of key regions, competitions, and tournaments.
Player Assessment: Conduct detailed evaluations of scouted players, assessing their technical, tactical, physical, and mental attributes.
Scouting Reports: Prepare thorough and informative scouting reports, highlighting player strengths, weaknesses, and potential suitability for the club.
Data and Analytics: Utilise data and analytics tools to support scouting decisions and player assessments.
Collaboration: Work closely with coaching staff, academy directors, and recruitment teams to provide valuable player recommendations and facilitate player integration into the club's development pathway or senior team.
Progress Monitoring: Continuously monitor and track the progress of scouted players within the club's development system or senior squad.
Feedback and Reporting: Provide regular feedback and reports to senior management on scouting activities, player progress, and potential signings.
Budget Management: Assist in managing the scouting budget efficiently, optimizing resources for maximum impact.
Scouting Software: Stay updated with the latest scouting software and tools to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the scouting process.
