Swindon Town Football Club is seeking to recruit a dynamic, energetic and ambitious person to fill the role of Academy Coach.
Reporting to: Lead Phase Coach and Head of Coaching, David Farrell.
Location: Any Swindon Town Football Club training venue including The County Ground.
Key duties include but not limited to:
- Support development of Academy Players.
- To be available for all internal CPD and keep relevant FA qualifications up to date. Support the needs of the lead Coach and assist in training sessions and games when instructed.
- Maintains 95% attendance throughout the season.
- Confirms attendance from every training session and match on ’Spond.
- Such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and to assist the Lead Coach.
Rates of pay:Training: £25 per session. Game-day rate: As Per fixture location
Qualifications:
- Hold the minimum ‘UEFA C’ Licence.
- Working towards UEFA B Qualification.
- Hold an up to date FA Safeguarding qualification.
- Hold the FA Emergency First Aid Level 1 qualification (IFAiF) within the last 3 years.
Skills:
- knowledgeable and fluent in coaching the technical and tactical Academy Principles of play in the small-sided games format including 5v5, 7v7 and 9v9 & 11v11 (Phase dependent).
- Ability to liaise empathetically and effectively with young players, parents, scouts & coaches.
- A clear understanding of the standards of behaviour and codes of conduct required within the Academy.
- A professional “can do” attitude with strong organisational and administrative skills. A desire to seek solutions, A genuine team player. Demonstrates enthusiasm and is personally committed to achieving agreed objectives.
