The Purpose:

Manchester United is a leading Premier League Football Club with a global brand presence. The Club is looking for an Operations Intern  to join the Commercial Operations team and support Sponsorship Sales.
Based in the commercial office of this world-famous sports club and working as part of a larger Operations and Commercial department.

The role involves direct liaison with the Global Sales team and other key stakeholders at the Club and plays a significant role in building upon an already impressive array of commercial Partnerships.

This is a unique and rare opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading football clubs, renowned for its success and innovation on and off the pitch. This 6-month paid placement offers experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic commercial office. The successful candidate will gain an invaluable insight into the commercial business of a global football club, specifically supporting the Commercial Operations team with providing operational and logistical support the Global Sales team.

The Role:

  • Carrying out daily activities such as the preparation and customisation of marketing materials.

  • Desk research, database management and sourcing/collating items.

  • High quality stock keeping.

  • Logistical preparation including mail merging, sending letters and packages, and dealing with couriers daily.

  • Working on prospect pitch creation and collateral.

  • Sourcing and liaising with suppliers, building relationships that ensure we are receiving the best service and prices.

  • Liaising with internal support teams ensuring all relevant marketing materials are delivered on time and deadlines met.

  • Strategy, analysis, and support on operational projects from concept through to completion.


The Person:

  • Ambitious graduate/college or further education leaver with a strong academic background.

  • Extremely thorough with excellent attention to detail.

  • Competent time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • A high level of concentration and self-motivation with repetitive tasks is vital.

  • A proactive nature who with a hands-on approach to their work.

  • A team-player, able to collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Club.

  • The ability to work in an independent, resourceful, and self-confident manner.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs – including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel – preferable but not essential.

  • Candidate should demonstrate pride and passion in working for Manchester United
