Description

Hartlepool United Football Club is seeking to recruit a dedicated and forward-thinking individual to join our team in the form of Media Officer.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing all media relations, operations, and content creation – maintaining high-standard association between the Club and its fanbase through the form of captivating and informative content.

The role is designed for someone with a will to want to implement the above – as well as someone with an innovative and solution-focussed mindset, who possesses exceptional communication skills.

An ability to adapt to varying footballing circumstances whilst maintaining a positive outlook is essential and the successful candidate will be able to efficiently manage an array of social media platforms whilst delivering information in a clear and engageable manner through the lens of a community-focussed professional football
club.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for overseeing media relations, operations, and content creation for Hartlepool United Football Club and its social media channels.

- Creating high-standard social platform content which aligns with the Club’s strategy.

- Introducing new, innovative approaches to drive the Club’s online following and build fan engagement.

- Implement and manage key media campaigns and work closely with all Club staff to ensure that PR targets are met.

- Identify and use new trends and methods to communicate with supporters and sponsors on behalf of the Club, overseeing regular updating of the Club’s website and social media channels.

- To liaise with the Club Secretary regards operational matters including, but not limited to, the announcement of player signings and matchday schedules.

- To comply with all National League, FA, and Club regulations with regards to public relations, media etc.

- Act as the lead contact for all external media requests, as well as managing matchday media commitments and liaising with press to ensure smooth and fluid communications.

- Effectively communicate and manage the flow of information of football related news content for the first team and men’s academy.

- Identify data capture opportunities across all digital platforms.

- Liaise with matchday media volunteers and content capturers to ensure high standard output.

- To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.
Other Responsibilities

- To consistently act in a manner which supports and upholds the Club’s values, acting as a positive role

model whilst encouraging and promoting supporter and community engagement.

- To be present at all First Team fixtures and Club events where required.

- Travel to and from locations including Victoria Park, TS24 8BZ, Durham University, DH1 3SE, and other locations if required, meaning a driving license is necessary.

- Develop a network of Volunteers and Interns to help nurture a pathway of future professional talent.

- Assist with other areas as well as miscellaneous duties as deemed necessary.
