Description

St Johnstone are looking for a Media and Communications Officer who will work closely with the Head of Media and Communications to produce high quality content and comms. 

Responsibilities 

- Develop and execute social media strategies to increase our online presence and fan engagement across various platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
- Create captivating content, including posts, interviews, stories, videos, and graphics, to showcase matchdays, behind-the-scenes moments, and community initiatives.
- Manage the social media content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant posts aligned with the Club’s brand and objectives.
- Writing and editing copy for the matchday programme, online news articles and weekly newsletter.
- Help organise and execute weekly press conferences with local and national press.
- Conduct interviews with personnel across the Club, including but not limited to players, staff, St Johnstone Women FC and Saints in the community.
- Travel to home and away games for full matchday coverage. Roles on the day include; liaising with press, post-match interviews, social media updates during the game and ADHOC Club commentary for SaintsTV.
- Use all available resources to ensure that the Club’s commercial partners and sponsors are given appropriate exposure and that the club’s facilities are promoted to their fullest potential.

Requirements 

- A strong passion for football and a deep understanding of the Club’s culture and fan dynamics.
- Strong news/article writing skills for the matchday programme and online news articles
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for a sports team, brand, or related entity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a creative flair for storytelling and content creation.
- Proficiency in social media analytics tools to track and analyze engagement metrics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to changes, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A team player with a positive attitude, innovative mindset, and a keen eye for detail.
- Previous work with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) and video editing tools is desirable but not a necessary requirement.
- Full UK driving licence.
