Job title: Management Accountant
Department: Finance
Based at: Ewood Park Stadium, Blackburn, BB2 4JF. Flexibility on location may be required.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Responsible for: N/A
Hours of work: 35 hours a week, plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This may include evening and weekend work as and when required.
Contractual status: Permanent
1. Job purpose: To assist with both management and financial accounting.
2. Duties and responsibilities:
• To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff, customers and clients of the Club;
• Support the Commercial departments in the production of performance analysis to assist in strategic decision making;
• Prepare and submit all reporting requirements to the EFL and other governing bodies of Football;
• Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are prepared monthly, and that all balances are correct, and differences investigated;
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register and ensure timely postings on acquisition/disposal of assets;
• Company VAT returns;
• Assist in the closing of the accounts and preparation for annual audits; and
• Assist in the preparation of the Monthly Management Pack, annual budgets and reforecasts.

• Advanced Level Microsoft Excel;
• Strong Analytical Skills; and
• Good Communication skills
4. Knowledge required:
• Previous knowledge of the football/sports industry would be beneficial; and
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages such as: Outlook, Excel, and Word
5. Qualifications required:
• Qualified / Part qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA)
