Girls United are looking for a London Marketing Lead (depending on experiences and responsibilities) to manage the marketing and communications of our programmes and activities in London. The role requires a person who can be embedded and proactive on all the field marketing aspects that help us grow our impact with beneficiaries, represent the diversity of voices we work with and build our London community.
Roles & Responsibilities:Field marketing and programme promotion:
- Lead the promotion of programmes and recruitment of participants and workforce (including players and coaches) with strategic campaigns that reach existing and new audiences.
- Work with London Manager, Programme Leads and coaches to identify marketing and communication needs of the organisation, from promotion to storytelling.
- Identify opportunities within the local community to build partnerships that create impact and help increase attendance at sessions.
- Drive creation of marketing assets, learning resources and programme support material in collaboration with London team (eg. leaflets, posters, match booklets, player profiles).
- Liaise with Global Marketing Manager to contribute to the Girls United brand and to create a cohesive voice.
Programme communication and community engagement:
- Supporting the wider London team with strategies and execution of updates, announcements and general communications relevant to our community.
- Manage and organise additional activities that support storytelling, partnership building and offer empowering experiences to our beneficiaries (eg. hosting media at sessions, trips to stadiums, participation in relevant London events).
- Utilising and updating communication platforms such as emails, newsletters and our website with information on London activities.
- Drafting and publishing engaging stories of players and coaches that showcase their journeys and give our community a voice.
- Supporting Global Marketing Manager to engage the London community in unique experiences and opportunities from global partnership (eg. engagement with professional football, stadium visits).
Social media:
- Working with Global Marketing Manager to establish and deliver social media strategy ensuring consistent growth across the board and representation of our London community in our channels.
- Planning, scheduling and posting London content on Girls United instagram, facebook, twitter, tiktok, linkedin and youtube channels.
- Monitoring direct messages received and tags from partner accounts.
- Supporting the collection of analytics and reporting on data with a quarterly deck.
- Identifying opportunities, trends and potential partners on social media channels to support storytelling of the London community.
Additional storytelling and brand building:
- Arranging content capture at sessions and creation of audio-visual assets to be used in a range of materials (graphics, promotional materials, social media posts, testimonial videos).
- Helping in identifying press and other marketing opportunities to increase visibility of Club London.
Qualities and Qualifications – Essential (E) / Desirable (D)Experiences:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in field marketing and communications (E)

- Experience working in youth sector, social impact and/or not-for-profit sector (D)

Hard Skills:
- Graphic design capabilities at a beginner level – Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, Illustrator, InDesign (E)
- Able to use communication and project management platforms – Trello, Slack, G-Suite (E)
- Facility for writing content and using digital marketing tools – Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Later (E)
