Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated, innovative and committed individual, to undertake a full-time role as Lead U18’s Professional Development Phase Coach.

The successful applicant will have gained previous experience coaching within the Youth Development Phase and extensive knowledge from working within elite sport.

Main role:

Support the delivery of coaching across the Professional Development Phase at Fleetwood Town, working across the U18s and U21s group and supporting both lead coaches, having a direct impact on individual player development and pathway to professional status.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Work with the Academy Coaching Team to deliver an age specific coaching curriculum in the Professional Development Phase, in line with the playing and coaching philosophy of the Academy, ensuring the effective planning, delivery and evaluation of every session is recorded on PMA

  • Support the delivery of coaching sessions with the U18s squad of players, ensuring alignment to the U21s group and Youth Development Phase

  • Review the progress of U18s & U21s players on PMA in accordance with the Academy review process

  • Work with the Academy Coaching Team to identify, co-ordinate, deliver and review all individual development plans for all players within the U18s & U21s

  • Work towards own Coach Development Action plan (DAP) agreed between you and the Head of Coaching, in line with the Coach Competency Framework (CCF)

  • Support and motivate the other coaches within the PDP to deliver the coaching curriculum and academy philosophy, modelling best practice, at all times

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the holistic development of all players within the U18s & U21s

  • Lead on weekly Phase meetings to discuss players and operations as part of an MDT

  • Co-ordinate the daily operations of the PDP, alongside the U18s & U21s Lead Coach, with and arrange training, fixtures, and additional fixtures to meet player needs. This involves managing the inventory and distribution of kit and equipment, dealing with match officials and communicating with players and parents

  • Monitor the transition of players between the Youth Development Phase, U18s & U21s squad

  • Contribute to the building and recording of Academy best practice sessions

  • Take an energetic, purposeful, and measurable approach to recruitment

  • Attend all CPD as instructed by the Head of Coaching and/or Academy Manager

  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching.


Qualifications:

  • UEFA A License

  • Previous experience working within an elite Academy

  • Previous experience working with players full-time

  • Advanced Youth Award

  • Knowledge of EPPP

  • Clean driving license and access to their own vehicle

  • Emergency First Aid

  • Safeguarding


You will require a full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
