Position Summary
The Lead Coach & Teaching Assistant will have an exciting hybrid role, within a rapidly scaling company with potential for internal growth. The successful candidate will be part of the Athletic Development group, with coaching responsibilities across a number of our partner organisations. The candidate will be immersed in Education with several responsibilities aligned to the Lecturer training programme.
Primary Responsibilities
Coaching
- The successful candidate will deliver highly detailed coaching sessions working within the department coaching framework. The candidate will coach across two Athletic Development projects each week. This will involve coaching on the pitch and in the gym 4-5 days per week and also a weekend day. The candidate will be coaching youth athletes from 14-18 years old, boys & girls, in Gaelic Games, Rugby and at the Adult Level with Women’s Rugby.
Administration
- The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the relevant groups administration, coaches, parents and players to ensure an efficient and effective training experience. The candidate will collect, analyse and report training data, providing regular reports to the relevant groups and department management.
Education
- The successful candidate will become part of the Lecturer training programme which will include assisting and leading the delivery of a minimum of eight educational workshops per year. The candidate will assist with practical and written assessments of student work 3-4 times per year. The candidate will be responsible for engaging with college students via the ‘Yammer’ platform in an assigned module.

Qualification and Experience:
Essential
- Undergraduate Degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in a team sports environment.
Desired
- Master's Degree in a related field or willing to pursue.
- Appropriate coaching accreditation or willing to achieve in first 12 months of employment.
Specific Experience:
- Previous coaching experience in both a rugby and Gaelic Games setting.
- Previous coaching experience with Youth Athletes aged 12-18 years.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
- The ability to communicate clearly and manage large group training delivery.
- A strong understanding of the basic principles of training, including specific knowledge in long term athletic development.
